Nuits-Saint-Georges
Les Charbonnières 2023
Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of those magical names that visitors recite like a rosary. Known the whole world over, Nuits-Saint-Georges has the original profile of a genuine wine village, but on the scale of a small town.
Origin
Halfway between Dijon and Beaune, and with an easterly exposure, the vineyards of Nuits-Saint-Georges spread over 6 kilometres, with 160ha of Village-appelation vines. The range of soils, exposure and locations here creates a great diversity of terroirs. The area is bisected by the valley of the Meuzin river, and the village itself.
Les Charbonnières are located at the southern end of the village, where the altitude is a little lower than in the north. The soil consists mainly of marl, combined with sand and pebbles from the top of the slope. Grape maturity is always excellent here.

Vintage
Fruity and generous
The 2023 vintage experienced unpredictable weather conditions, making work in the vineyards essential for grape quality. Harvesting began in early September under intense heat with the Chardonnays to avoid over-ripening, followed by the reds. The whites will spend two winters in the cellar, while the Pinot Noirs will have undergone short ageing to preserve the fruity aromas. A vintage that brings out the best in each terroir, offering wines that are bright and delicious.
Ageing potential: from 5 to 7 years.

Tasting notes
With its deep, intense ruby color, this wine reveals a powerful bouquet of black fruits, enhanced by subtle floral notes evoking whole harvests, roses and violets. On the palate, it seduces with its concentration, richness and mellow tannins, carried by a velvety texture. This Nuits-Saint-Georges is both gourmand and floral, with a long, persistent finish.
