Origin

After a short interruption south of the Côte Chalonnaise, vineyards reappear around the town of Tournus. This region is a great producer of primarily white wines. One out of three bottles of white Burgundy comes from the Mâconnais!
Château London is not a brand name, but a vineyard whose name refers to the fact that its original owner lived in rue Landon in Paris. Over time, “Landon” became “London”.

Viticulture

Grape variety: chardonnay & muscat chardonnay
Soils: chalky white limestone
Orientation: South-West
Pruning: Guyot system
Average age of the vine: 26 years old.

Vinification

Harvest date: 26 September 2024.
The grapes were handpicked.
At the winery: the whole bunches of grapes were gently pressed for 2½ hours. The temperature of the must was brought down to 12°C then was immediately transferred to barrels with no settling to preserve a maximum of lees.

Ageing

Maturation: aged for 14 months in 450 L barrels with no racking or stirring to bring out all of this wine’s minerality. A proportion of 40% new French oak barrels.
Barrels: French oak barrels that had been toasted at low temperatures for a long time to impart a subtle, delicate touch of oak were used.

Bottling

Bottling: by gravity on December 15, 2025, wine fined with bentonite, light filtration.
Number of bottles: 2,858.

Vintage

Elegant and Structured
The 2024 vintage, marked by limited sunshine and frequent rainfall, required constant attention in the vineyard. At Les Ursulines, meticulous sorting allowed the selection of the most promising grapes (with very low yields in red), fully expressing the qualitative potential of the harvest. The result meets our highest expectations: the whites display beautiful freshness and acidity, while the reds reveal intense fruit character and supple tannins.
Ageing potential: from 4 to 6 years.

Tasting notes

With a clear pale golden hue, this wine reveals a complex nose, marked by a bouquet of yellow fruits, complemented by iodized notes and a hint of butter. On the palate, the acidity supports the fruit, while delicate saline aromas emerge, carried by well-integrated, harmonious oak. This is a Mâcon showcasing minerality and freshness, with remarkable length and precise balance.
