Origin

Often regarded as the most discreet of Gevrey’s Grands Crus, Latricières-Chambertin covers a limited area of around 7 hectares. This jewel of the Côte de Nuits stands out for its refinement, finesse, and natural elegance, producing wines of remarkable subtlety.
Its unique geographical location gives it a distinctive identity: exposed to the influences of the Combe Grisard, the climate here is cooler than the appellation average. The cold air currents that flow through slow down the ripening of the grapes, encouraging delicate aromatic expression, vibrant tension, and exceptional purity.
Wines from Latricières-Chambertin are thus defined by their balance, combining structure, freshness, and complexity, with outstanding ageing potential.

Viticulture

Grape variety: pinot noir
Soils: A shallow, stony terroir, dominated by compact limestone soils.
Orientation: East
Average age of the vines: 50 years old.

Vinification

The grapes were handpicked. They were sorted a first time in the vineyard and a second time on the sorting table when they arrived at the winery.
At the winery: the grapes were 100% destemmed but not crushed (they were left whole) and were gravity-fed into tanks. Maceration lasted a total of 15 days including 2 days of cold maceration (12°C). Fermentation used indigenous yeasts only (no additives such as enzymes or tannins were used).3 punchings of the cap.

Ageing

Maturation: aged on the lees for 17 months with no racking.
Barrels: French oak barrels that had been toasted at low temperatures for a long time to impart a very delicate touch of oak to the wine.

Bottling

Bottling and conditions: gravity-fed on March 13, 2025; unfined, with a light lenticular filtration.
Number of bottles : 303.

Vintage

Fruity and generous
The 2023 vintage experienced unpredictable weather conditions, making work in the vineyards essential for grape quality. Harvesting began in early September under intense heat with the Chardonnays to avoid over-ripening, followed by the reds. The whites will spend two winters in the cellar, while the Pinot Noirs will have undergone short ageing to preserve the fruity aromas. A vintage that brings out the best in each terroir, offering wines that are bright and delicious.
Ageing potential: 10 years and more.

Tasting notes

The deep, brilliant ruby color, delicately tinged with garnet reflections, opens onto intense aromas of red berries, dominated by raspberry and redcurrant, subtly enhanced by fine oak notes. On the palate, the wine reveals itself as harmonious and elegant, carried by silky, perfectly integrated tannins, offering a delicate texture and remarkable finesse.
